I did this a few days ago based on what someone else commented on but wanted to wait a few days to see what it did. My battery was draining so fast you could see it counting down on the battery meter. I made a backup of everything on the pda, not including the cards, did a hard reset and then a full restore and it has been very civil ever since. That has been 4 days now and I can leave it shut off over night and it will drop a couple of percent and that is all. The only program that didn't survive the restore was PocketBreeze. It restored correctly but I had to re-enter the password. Not that it should matter but I used Sprite for the backup/restore. So if this works for others does that mean that one additional hard reset needs to be done after the upgrade? it sounds simple but just maybe. Now if i could get it to stop syncing every 5 minutes..... I have a real server set up and have it set to manual but it just keeps going.
I'll try this weekend. I'm more interested in the Activesync issue. I have a fake server, but it doesn't seem to help. I think the problem is, activesync never shuts done. Neither Vbar or MagicButton can turn it off. The only way is from the settings menu. Otherwise, everything seems to be A-Okay!

I did the fake server trick, my X51v with A12 does not do activesync by itself, never has, anyone know why??
The list of programs I'm running is in my profile, could it be programs you guyes are running that I'm not.??

When I did the upgrade I did 2 Hard Resets because I could not do the first hard reset that the upgrade asked for. I don't think my battery is draining any faster than before the upgrade.
After I upgraded to A12, I did a hard reset (to clean things up). No problems at all, so far. I also installed everything back. I don’t like to restore from backups. Is like bringing the ghosts from the past.
Still sucking after the hard reset... the odd this is I keep getting this message Backup Battery Very Low, what is weird since the X51v has NO BACKUP BATTERY!!! This leads me to thing there is something wrong with the hardware or something... it is draining even with the device fully powered off!!!!!!!!!

I had that backup battery problem before it is broken hardware.

I don't do restores from old ROM's either but this was a new backup done on A12 so it is ok to do.
