I make my own screen protectors. I use a clear plastic that is .008mm thick. I got the material from a frabric store and the original use for this material was as a table cloth cover. I bought a square yard four years ago for less than a buck. I made a cardboard template the size of my unit (a total of 5 different PDAs and counting). This material is washable and can be reinstalled or adjusted. It clings to the screen with static so it is easy to remove or adjust. Each screen protector lasts me from 6 months to a year.

I understand your frustration, but IMO, I think you need to give your post a little more than 2 hours before throwing in the towel. I have been using ScreenGuardz and end up changing my screen protector once it gets dirty - about every 45-60 days. Overall, they seem to work OK+. In the past I had used Fellows with a Palm and they worked real well.

When I remove my screen protection I use my breath and a very soft cloth to clean my units screen. Then my screen protection is on I use the very same method. As I posted above my screen protection is attached with static only and comes off cleanly.

Use a very soft cloth or preferably a microfiber cloth dampened with a small amount of water. You may have to clean the screen several time to get the soap scum removed.
