Aximsitebluetoothicon Bluetooth: simple query

With my new AximX51v, is connecting to my Inspiron 9200 via ActiveSync to get my contacts updated a reasonable use for Bluetooth? I have the kensington Dongle & installation CD.

Should this happen automatically - Run the CD, plug in the Dongle, turn on the Axim Bluetooth function, and the thing via screens will ipractically nstall itself, BadaBing BadaBing?

Or will I have to mess around with Ports here, Ports there, adjust this adjust that...

I just want to get my contacts updated without having to do the cradle thing.
ActiveSync now works well since I got rid of Pocket Plus and Pocket Time, both eveidently Dawgs in the manger.

Help, Bluetooth functioning will be the stars in my AximX51v's crown!

Here is what you need to do.
1) install the kensington CD drivers and bluetooth software
2) install the kensington dongle when prompted by its software and reboot.
3) Turn on BT on the axim and select make my device discoverable.
4) Open My BT places and find turn on my BT and Make my device discoverable.
5) on the PC find discover devices and wait for it to find the axim
6) select the axim and select discover services - don't worry about what services it finds.
7) now you can go to a file or contact and select send via blue tooth, and select the ax and it will go.

if you want to send from the ax to the pc
1) on the ax select add partnership
2) then discover services again don't get confused by what appears
3) select file or contact and select beam

good luck!

oh read www.aximsite.com/bluetooth for further details and maybe I got a name or two wrong.....

:) For bluetooth activesync here is a link with pictures.
http://axim.dpicts.com/

note that he used microsoft xp's resident bluetooth stack.

If you want a more functional and reliable bluetooth stack install Widcomm hack by Mikelspikel and Beemer.

and yes, it is a good way to do it if you get it working.

It will be fast, plus easy to use once you get it setup the first time :)
