I bought this Axim on a dell day last week in Canada and after months of waiting was so excited. Now I'm just frustrated. I knew some things the Axim can do yet can't seem to get satisfaction.
Most frustrating thing is getting the WI FI to work..I'm found my network but am having a difficult time punching in the network code. I have 26 digits on three lines and it doesn't seem to take. I"m frustrated frustrated and more frustrated.
I orded a Rhino case with extended to big to carry around, now I have to send it back
I ordered screen protectors and they get too dirty I can't even freakin see the screen
I burned dvd's into AVI files and the screen is too white
I'm at the point where I actually through this into the garbage can in public and my girl friend made me take it back
If I can't solve the WIFI problem I'm taking this back on Monday.
Which screen protectors did you order? Which program are you using to view your AVI files?
I went through that guide..the axim detects my router and asks for a network key, I entered in the password..it doesn't fit in and keeps saying incorrect password.
It's easier to enter WPA keys than WEP. Does your router support WPA? Apart from that, all I can suggest is that you double check your entry - there's a lot of room for error when entering 26 keys.
I have never used Clearivue, so I can't comment on the quality. Is there a protective covering that perhaps you forgot to remove? (Just guessing really.)
Does the AVI file play ok on your PC? You can adjust colour in the Settings.
1. make sure you're not using WPA2.. I don't believe the axim supports that method. Use WPA.. I use mine all over the place, and never have a problem.
2. get a innopocket case, much better then a rhino.. It does not support an extended battery though
3. screen protectors get scratched, that's their job. If you have any dirt on your screen protector, your stylus is just going to jam it into the screen, hence the scratches. you'll either have to find a more scratch resistant screen protector or suck it up and don't use one. If your screen gets lots of scratches, you might as well toss your handheld. it's almost cheaper to buy a new one.
4. i surely hope you're not using the crappy WMP for your avi's ? Do yourself a favor and get TCPMP (it's free) From there you can go to options, video, and adust the brightness and contrast.
5. don't throw you axim in the trashcan, it only makes you look like childish
Handhelds aren't quite as easy to manipulate as most companies would like you to believe. You are going to have problems with your handheld, just like you are going to have problems with your computer. That's why aximsite.com is here.

YES, finally got wi fi to work. I was typing in O instead of 0..TUTURIAL is good.
I cleaned the screen protector but may need another one.
I am using TCPMP..I didn't know the settings could be adjusted.
I may need another screen protector though..this one is all scratched up.
Thank you everyone's help. I'm calm and cool..not the returning Axim.
