Does not seem Chrismax is selling the cable on eBay now. Can anyone vouch for the reputability of AXIMPDA? I have seen the reviews of the Dell, Boxwave, and PC-Mobile. AXIMPDA looks good, but I haven't seen any review.

The AXIMPDA one looks well built and "cleaner" with the embedded mini-usb connector. The one by ChrisMax has the DC in and Mini-USB on each side of the cable on the Axim connector side. Looks at the pictures at ChrisMax's ebay store.

I bought this cable from ChrisMax, too...
It works flawlessly!

Just thought I would share a link to a free (for a few hours) bit of software called "PPT Movie" that I have been trying out that converts powerpoint presentations to video.

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

or

http://pptexpert.com/index.html

The movie can then be converted (using TCPMP) to the PPC and run as a movie. This reduces the files in size. So instead of running PPT on the PPC in PPT-savy software or as JPEG files you can run it as a movie and pause it when you like using the buttons. Of course you will still need a VGA cable to run it on a projector but it does offer an alternative way of doing it. I know Gigi usually gets a kick out of these sorts of things...

I need the X51v VGA cable quick. Anyone here know if any of the brick and mortar stores (Frys, BestBuy, CircuitCity) would carry them? I would like to buy from PC-Mobile but apparently they're in Hong Kong, thus would take 7 days or more to get here.

I have been looking for solutions to remotely show my Axim on a screen, and can highly recommend the Remote Display Control solution mentioned earlier in the posts. Just to summarise;
- Active Sync needs to be running
- The Remote Display Host program needs to be running on the host PC
- CE Remote Display needs to running on the Pocket PC
- The MUI file needs to be copied to the Pocket PC to ensure that the display on the main PC screen is full VGA (not QVGA).
I've changed the name of the files to Remote Display, 'cos I'll forget what the program does in a couple of months and it still works OK. The speed of response is limited by the ActiveSync speed but it is certainly adequate for most applications.
A good little program / solution. Thank you.
