dell x51v screen colour looks abit washed out

My x51v screen seems very blend as if there are not much contrast.. is it the case for everyone .. or is there any tweaks or software to make the contrast or colour richer..

I find turning the brightness to maximum makes it look washed out.

Use below 50% in a not-too-bright area and see if there's any difference.

agree that the higher you make brightness , the more washed out it will be..

since you guys are having the same contrast.. then it should be normal..

however are there any software to adjust the colour..

Colors are very unsaturated. Especially greens. I can load a picture with a pale green background and it looks gray on the Axim. I got a replacement Axim today and it's the same way. If there is a utility for adjusting the color, I'd be interested too.

There isn't. There is a Contast applet hack for the x50v/x51v, but it further decreases constrast.

There isn't much you can do - the built-in screen in the x50v/x51v is pretty crappy compared to the (in this respect) better models.

All you can do if you want at least static image (picture) viewing a bit better is following the tutorial at http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=38123

yeah, screen wash out is quite common with x50/51, not much you can do though. HX4700 is the best in this respect.

Or, for that matter, any Fujitsu-Siemens VGA device. The new, N/C series has an even better screen than the hx4700.

Definitely a crappy screen, but for the price I paid, I'm not complaining.
