There are tools that sync mail/notes/tasks and sometimes even data (my doc's) but most of them are designd to work with a server (like mnotes, mobile exchange or wirelesssync/wifis).
OK...I found Mobsync by using google. Anybody use it?
I use it and it allows you to sync any folder(s) that you want. It requires activesync to function however. You can set activesync to run without syncing anything. Most of the time that is what I do. I sync my tasks, appts and contacts with pdasync and my files with mobsync or simly copying. The only thing I use activesync for is Phatnotes.
So far, we've come up with PDAsync and Mobsync as possibilities. Thanks DeeCee52.
but remember the activesync server and client (if those are the right terms) are still running on the pc and ax to establish the connection.
Intellisync is more full featured (and more expensive) than pdasync. There are a few public contact syncing programs through plaxo and yahoo as well. I'm sure there are more.
I just have Activesync run in the background, install my PPC apps, then go into the Activesync directory and grab the cab files. I combine the cab file with a text file containing the reg info if needed and zip it up. I then copy the zip file through BT or via a CF USB reader (if the file is big like movies).
I never physically connect my Axim to my PC. They never sync. My emails and info come from an exchange server. My Axim is running independantly.
