Help on restore factory settings please , I think I have done a stupid thing :-(
Hi
(Also posted in the hardware forum before I realised this may be a better place to post, my apologies)
Apologies if this seems a little stupid !
I recently purchased an X50v and upgraded it to WM5 all seemed fine but the application buttons were inoperative.
This may have been the case prior to the upgrade, not sure as I upgraded it straight away.
I followed all the steps from the Dell website with no success, I then tried the process of restoring the factory defaults.
Here's the crux of the problem, obviously I cannot press the buttons to either choose to abort or accept the factory restore and I have tried all I can think of to get out of this screen.
My fear is that I have screwed the unit, can anyone please advise if there is a way out of my predicament ??
Welcome to Aximsite, try a hard reset if it isn't too late and I would call Dell about the broblem with X50 update. I know that you may not have any warranty but it worth trying.

Application Buttons Inoperative X50v, did WM5 upgrade kill em ??
I have an X50v running WM5 Rom a01 and the application buttons are inoperative.
I have not long had the unit and upgraded it to WM5 immediately so I'm not sure if the problem was already there or the WM5 and rom upgrade has caused the issue.
I have had a good look around the forums and run all the Dell troubleshooting stuff to no avail :-(
I wonder if anyone has any thoughts before I roll it back and try it on 2003 please ?
It is definintely not the lock switch. Because I have the same problem except that 1 of the 4 buttons still works. I too noticed it long after upgrading to WM2005. The only thing I have not done yet is to do a hard reset.
