Well tomorrow Im receiving my axim x51v, just in time for my birthday on saturday:love: I got it on ebay, used but I hope in good condition
I would like suggestions on what software and hardware should I get to go with my pda, any specific game, program, keyboard, etc........

I just got my x51v about two weeks ago. Man, I Love this thing! I have installed Resco Explorer, and WiFiFoFum. As for games: I am currently playing the crap out of Warfare Incorporated. This game is like some of the earlier Command & Conquer games, if you like C&C, you'll love this. What a blast! I also have Atomic Cannon and Red Sector (FPS).
Also check out MyPDAs. You'll get a lot of idea about what to do with you ax and how to do it.
Just be warned, you will fall in love with all these aps. Eventually you will have to do a hard rest cause the apps don't always play nice, but that's the fun. After that you will have a very useful tool and a whole lot of fun. enjoy.
do i have to do any rom upgrade? it currently have A01
ao1, i think, is the hardware rom, which is a good thing. I assume you are seeing this under the battery. The software rom is learned from the Today>Settings>System>System Informaion. If it says a06 I would go ahead and upgrade to the a12. Follow the instructions to the tee, prior to loading any software and you are good to go. Have fun!
Happy Birthday and I have plenty of Free Apps, and Games in MYPDA section, also if you are warranted Go for the latest Rom update A12, make sure you are comfortable doing this or you can render your Axim useless.

I went there but all it says is ROM Version: A01 (08250500)
hmmmmm. Haven't seen that. I would suggest upgrade to a12. Nowire has sage advice, young grasshopper, but neglects to add it is a zen thing. So follow dell's instructions exactly, keep your ax in the cradle during all resets, even those that go by quickly. Patience is rewarded, and soon, you too, will wil be running with axies.
I would suggest, just play with the it in its present state. see the way you would like to interact with it. know what you would like to have access to immediately. Then bite the bullet and perform the rom upgrade.
then start loading the apps that get you what you discovered during your first interaction.

Yes im going to wait to receive the usb cable because I just bought the unit itself, and then perform the rom update, Im also thinking on buying some screen protectors and maybe a bluetooth keyboard......:closedeye
