How to get a reliable alarm?

I searched through the threads. Maybe I didn't use the right keywords, but I couldn't find a good answer for myself.

It seems that I can never rely on the alarm to wake me up. sometimes:

1) It just won't go off. Later in the day I'll turn on the device, and then the alarm will go off.

2) Other times I will mute the PPC for some reason, but when I unmute it the alarm will stay muted.

3) Worst of all, both 1 & 2 above don't happen all the time. Sometimes the alarm goes fine. I can never rely on it!

What do I need to do? Is there a glitch in the software that can be fixed? Would simply getting a 3rd- party alarm pprogram fix my woes? Thanks!

Wish I could help you, but I have the same problem. I just use the alarm on my cell phone. It's louder anyway.

CASIO or TIMEX at your local store... ;)

It works everytime...

On the other hand, I use Spb Time, and it works everytime too... For me anyway...

Wakeup Tweak for WM2K3.2, link on My View MyPDA. Works for me. Was this fixed in WM5.0?

I use a program called "Chronos". You can set it to ignore system volume (like mine is set). This way, even if the pocket pc sound is muted, the alarm will ring. You can set it to increase in volume over time, to play a custom file of your own (mp3) as an alarm, among a ton of other options. Great little program. There's a trial available, give it a go. Chronos has never failed me :).

Give spb Time a try. It is reliable and the volume is independant of the Axims volume.
