X50v bluetooth light always stays on

I'm having a problem with my wife's X50v where the bluetooth light is always on (solid light, not flashing), even if the PDA is off.

I've never used bluetooth on either of our X50v's. The problem started a few weeks after I bought a new X50v and gave my wife my old one (which suffers from a broken headphone jack). When this problem first cropped up, I would notice the blue light being on, and turning the BT radio off and on a few times would get the light to go out. Now it just stays on constantly, and no amount of turning the radio on and off will get it to go out.

I've even done a hard reset- no change. I can only get the light to turn off by taking the battery out.

Anyone know of anything I could try short of sending it in for repair (my warranty expired a while ago)?

A hard reset would seem to rule out a software issue....... That leaves hardware failure.... sorry......

2 good reasons for Dell warranty. If you have the warranty.....time to use it........on both preferrably.

Had I known I would have been giving that one to my wife someday I would definitely have extended the warranty.. not that this is her fault or anything but she does seem to have a knack for having devices around her break. She's actually unable to wear a watch because every one we've bought her stops working, even one worn as a pendant! :-) I guess everyone has an electromagnetic field, hers just seems to freak out gadgets...

I'll definitely be extending the warranty on mine.
