Upgraded to A12 and i cant perform a soft reset

I recently update to A12 , and so far it ran well . There was a slight energy drain but it wasnt of great concern.

Then 2 days after i upgraded one of my programs crashed and i had to perfrom a soft reset. First the Dell logo , and then for some odd reason the windows mobile screen poped up and then became nonresponsive.

Does anyone have any tips to solve this? Should i reinstall A12?

The Windows Mobile screen\logo was introduced in A12. Have you tried: Power off, wait 10 seconds, soft reset?

I had a hang on the first SR after installing A12 and that solved it. Otherwise rather than reloading A12 first try a hard reset (it will use the installed A12 to restore data).

On an x51 with A06 there was no Windows Mobile splash screen that appeared after the Dell logo. The OP made reference to a Windows splash screen on an x51 that wasnt there prior to installing A012. What I said was accurate and true.

On this one I can only speak for myself and not the OP.

x51v with A06. No password protection. No WM splash screen.
Upgraded ROM to A12. No password protection. WM splash screen appears for 3 seconds after the Dell logo screen. WM loads as usual.

Edit: I verified on my wifes A11 x51 that the splash screen is present. So I should have said it was introduced to the x51's starting with A11. Just found that out. But if I recall, I dont think A11 was available to download. I remember a thread where people were asking how to get it.
