can't open switcher bar
My x51v won't open the switcherbar. I opened it once before, then I exit the switcher bar. Now if I want to open it, it makes this sound that I cannot open it. I've tried alot of things, opening a lot of programs, before opening the switcher bar. Or not charging it etc. Can anyone help???

Welcome to the site! Have you tried a soft reset? I am not a big fan of switcherbar. I like Magic Button a lot better. Find it here: http://www.transcreative.com There are others too. vBar is another.

No. It's the same as restarting your PC.

soft reset, put the end of the stylus in the hole on the back and push and release, is your friend! It causes no harm and clears out stuck software. Keep in mind that if you have a document or other program running it will lose whatever you haven't saved. but no it causes no harm. Some people do it everyday to get things off to a good start. I do it when it needs is like when the pda seems slow or somthing is hung. Just don't confuse it with a hard reset which is the same but you also hold down the power button at the same time. That will get rid of everything and put the axim back to the way it was when you got it.

Using the soft reset button with a PDA is like breathing to a person. If you do not do it every once and a while, you are dead.

Soft reset is a natural response to poor coding practices.

Errmmm - exactly the same probs from newbie me! Click Switcher Bar and it highlights, but that's all. This was two days ago on a new (actually 'reconditioned' whatever that means...) X51V, and soft resets (or, come to that, hard ones) made no difference.
I thought that it would be sensible to change from A06 to A12 sooner rather than later, so I did the upgrade.
Apart from the stated benefits in Dell's website, the Switcher Bar now works!
