Turn on device from suspend mode - A12

The option to turn on the device from suspend mode upon the press of the "program button" (wireless) or the record button is usually left OFF for my purposes, as I keep my X51v in my magnesium case in my pocket.

However, I noticed that every time after a soft reset, these items appear to be checked as enabled. This is a pain, as every single time I swap the battery or SPB automatically backs up, it happens.
My device usually turns on my pocket, and the thing is after it does that, I don't know why it doesn't automatically turn off b/c it hasn't been used for the "3 minutes" i've set it to. Thus, now I need to go in and uncheck those every single freaking time I soft reset, or the battery drains pretty much just sitting in my pocket once of those two external buttons is hit.

Anybody else suffer the same thing I do? Perhaps, does anybody know of a registry key or something that will keep these two off permenantly, even upon a soft reset?

[Okay, maybe it isn't every soft reset (just tried it)...but it's so sporadic, and it happens so often (i guess i soft reset a lot) that it's really frustrating]

The only thing that makes any sense to me, since you mentioned swapping batteries is that your internal backup battery is depleted and the Axim loses its settings during a batt swap.

I was also reading in the manual last night about full power off feature. You can full power off and not lose files, but if the Axim remains in full power off for X minutes it will lose its settings and revert to the default.

As for the settings being lost through sporadic soft resets - it may be that the registry is not being flushed. From what I understand, typically when performing a soft reset under WM5 the registry entries under HKUSER are retained while items under Local Machine are discarded. To force the items to save you would need to: power off (suspend mode) wait 10 seconds and perform a soft reset while in suspend mode. Then the registry will flush (save) and new changes are retained.

There are a few threads about this on the forum.

I've noticed that a full power off (press and hold the power button) is not quite the same as a soft reset (press the button in the back while the unit is powered up) If I soft reset, the only setting that changes is the Turn on Bluetooth check box (becomes checked). If I full power off I have to change the settings mentioned by the OP and the Bluetooth option. Also, I've noticed that the recently used programs in the start menu are cleared on full power off but not on soft reset as described above.

Edit: MarcFou, I didn't know about flushing the registry. I'll give that a try.

Edit2: Just did a soft reset while in suspend mode (waited 30 seconds just to be sure) and all my settings were retained. Yay! However, I then did a full power off and the turn on device from suspend mode options on the "power on" tab reverted back to being checked. Oh well, maybe those settings aren't stored in the registry?

control: Full power off and suspend are different. Are you actually doing a full power off by definition? I did a full power off just to see what would happen and all my power settings reverted to default. Also, my clock did not retain time + date. But I remember reading about that consequence in the manual.
