Weird Axim Behavior regarding Standy/Power Off

I have been seeing a weird issue with my X51v. I would leave it on the cradle while i am using my desktop, and press the power button. I guess sending it to standby. But after a few minutes it will automatically comes out of standy, and starts activce sync. I cant tell if this is related to a standby issue or active sync.

I've had mine three months and it's always done that, I don't know why.

one of 2 ways to defeat this - either close active sync on the axim or simply unplug the usb connector from the cradle. both stop active sync.

I believe that is related to activesync. Unless you have done the fake server trick (Search the site for instructions)(FST)? Out of the box, activesync is set sync every 5 minutes or so, therefore the axim will wake up and start syncing.

The FST allows you to set the syncing to manual. It will sync when you first connect it, but after that you will have to expressly tell it to sync. Good Luck.

Edit: Alternative: If you have a BT dongle on your pc, you can use BT and the FST. Mine sits in the cradle I can have it either off or on, connected to the pc or not and there is not unwarranted activity. It seems to just work better than the usb connection. Well worth the 20.00 I spent on the USB BT dongle.

That hasn't been my experience. Even with FST (on both A06 and A12) the axim, when in the cradle, will wake up out of suspend after 5 minutes and begin synching. I know FST is working because it stops AS from popping up on my ax when it's not in the cradle.

I've also had this problem on my x50v. I later found out that agile messenger beta 3 or something was periodically bringing my pda out of sleep for 15 secondssthen shutting it off. If i left music palying you would hear it paly for a few seconds then stop. if it was in the cradle it would starat up activesync and remain on. i solved the problem by reverting to an older version of agile.
