Unable to obtain IP on X51

Hi all. I have suddenly become unable to obtain a server assigned IP on my cradled X51V. The only thing I can possibly trace this to is an accidental MS Office update - (which I never normally do). HAs anyone else experienced this *sudden* inability to obtain an IP following an Office update? Interestingly, a few other things have suddenly stopped working, such as gmail notifier, RSS feeds, etc... Strange...

Perhaps the office update modified your firewall settings? That's the only thing that springs to mind. Don't know how likely that'd be though.

It's wierd - no personal firewall, (and the XP one is most definately OFF!)

At work we have Trend Micro Antivirus and that has a firewall built-in. Everytime I sync my computer I have to shutdown AV. Otherwise nothing works.

When your Axim is cradled to ActiveSync the Axim does not obtain a DHCP IP address, ActiveSync "passes through" the PC's internet connection to the Axim. If the PC can get at the internet, your Axim should be able to also. In the ActiveSync UI, check the File->Connection Settings dialog's "This computer is connected to" dropdown list and make it's set to the right value.
