Afarre,

Am I looking at this right you have a stereo input to your Axim?

That is exactly what I have been looking for

I do not know what exactly you mean.
Axim has Audio Stero Output and I connect it to Aximizer audio preamplifier.
Then I connect the preamp output to car stero audio input.

I use Aximizer preamplifier to match Axim audio volume with car radio and CD player. Without preamp Axim sounds very low in my car stero.

In looking at this pic you posted there is an audio in. What I want to use it for is for recording live bands off of a sound mixing board.

I beleive the audio in is just where you plug the axim's sound into. He uses two male headphone plugs spliced together. One end go into the Axim's audio OUT port (headphones port) and the other end goes into the Aximizer's audio IN port.
There's no recording involved. He's just putting the axim's sound through a preamp because the x51v's sound blows.

Right!
But is not jus a X51V problem. I tried to connect a couple of mp3 devices to my car stereo input with same result.
It think it is more like a problem of impedance misadaptation rather than audio volume.
Anyway, Aximizer preamp solves it :approve:

Ok got it so does anyone know of a way to have audio ported into the Axim for recording?

Axim has MIC input. But it is a MONO input. Sorry.

This is probably a stupid question, because I don't know much about mics, but could you cut the +/- to the mic and say... directly connect the wires to an audio out port on something?
Sorta like... digitaly recording instead of using the mic
I doubt it would work, as I'm sure that's not the signal... just an idea.

Sorry, it is not possible.
MIC input is analog and there is no way to input audio stereo.

Probably it is internally available, but it is not wired.
Hey!, other thing to hack!

First I built a modification to VGA Dell adaptor by adding USB and RS232 cables.

When having PDA on my hand with 4 heavy wires hanging from the bottom (USB, power, VGA and RS232) and 6 wires hanging from the top (audio and USB HUB with 4 USB wires + power) I thought I should build something more practical.

Final shape like a docking station is just because I wanted all connector at rear face.
