Quick question about ripping DVD to x51v

I remember seeing a thread with step by step instruction to rip DVD movie to HDD then convert that to DIVX. That was long time ago and it seems I could never see that thread again. (I tried to search, don't know what key words to use) If you guys know where it is or what software I can use to convert DVD to DIVX for free . Plz let me know. Thanks

Fairuse Lite it does pretty much everything for you and is free - for good quality allow about 100MB per 30mins of the movie and sound around 128-192.

as all the free tools are hard to use (as far as I'm concerned) I bought DVDCatalyst which does a great job. There are a couple of other good tools as well at low $. I have numerous movies & all of Firefly ripped now. Takes about half the time of a movie to rip so about 45 mins a film.

google SimpleDivix thats the easiest app to use and it works fairly well. otherwise use Mediacoder. Both are free programs and work like a charm.
