Upgrade from A04 Rom?

My Axim 50v displays v. A04. I've read the upgrade threads, but all concern upgrading from A06.

I've really had no major problems with my Axim and it performs pretty well, and after reading many threads I'm not completely clear as to the performance/reliability gains you get from the later ROM versions.

Also, wondering where you get the ROM upgrade? Not able to find it on the Dell site for some reason. I do have the PPC 5.0 disks and have toyed with upgrading the OS. Am I correct in saying that the ROM upgrade occurs along with the OS upgrade? I notice that the utilities disk has a ROM folder containing several files.

The only thing that has been bothering me with my Axim is wireless networking. It is picking up about 8 wireless networks in my apartment building, some secured and some unsecured. My network is WPA secured but sometimes the Axim connects to one of the other unsecured networks. Can't seem to figure out how to remove these other networks and designate my network as the only one to access. Maybe it's just something I'm not understanding with the wireless features.

FYI - the a12 rom is only for x51v devices, not the x50v. Dell completely screwed over x50v users who expected to upgrade to WM5 by releasing buggy software, and then never updating it. There are threads about convincing Dell to upgrade the x50v to an x51v because of the problems.
