A couple of weeks ago my x50v just up and died. It needed a reset and it only got 75% through the reboot. Tried a hard reset, no better. So it was dead.
I have been using the WM5 upgrade since it came out. I was not interested in upgrading to an x51v. WM5 ran reasonably well. I found it slugish sometimes, but not too bad. Certainly not unusable. I used it for a power point presentation just a couple of weeks before it happened (the Axim turned out to be of more interest to the audience than my presentation

).
Regardless, when I contacted tech support - since it was still under warrenty - they upgraded me to an x51v. I will admit that I did ask to be upgraded. They did it without an argument only asking for the order number of my WM5 CD. I have no complaints of tech support.
While I waited for my x51v to come I borrowed (stole:rolling: ) my wife's old viewsonic ppc. I found it to be quite peppy which was interesting. Faster than my x50v on WM5.
When my x51v arrived I was quite surprised at how fast it felt compared to my wife's ppc or my old x50v. It runs everything very well and I am quite happy with it. It is a real pleasure to use. Even though I loved my old x50v and never had any real complaints about its operation under WM5 (I was not willing to try to get an x51 until my x50v died), the x51v is really great to use. The only part of the x51v that I do not like is the reboot on battery change. They should have had a cap in the system to allow for quick changes.
Anyway, I can't help thinking that WM5 killed my x50v. However, I am happy with the x51v and it really is superior in how it runs WM5.
