Playing MP3's wirelessly off of desktop PC hard drive is not working

With the help of others, my X51V is now wirelessly networked with my desktop PC.

However, my hopes of playing my 30 GB music collection on my desktop hard drive wirelessly through my Axim (while I sit in my backyard!) do not look good.

When I click on a music file, and Windows Media Player opens on my Axim, I get the error message "The parameter is incorrect," and I cannot play it. The only fix is to actually copy each individual song onto the Axim (which kind of defeats the purpose).

Interestingly, .wav files play fine, but the others don't.

Does anyone (hopefully!!!) know a fix???

Thanks in advance!!

Are you trying to access the file using the built-in File Explorer? Try Total Commander (free) or Resco Explorer instead.

Switch to TCPMP or MortPlayer

Open or add the files to a playlist by typing \\*servername*\*path*
e.g.
\\PVR\MP3

It's works everytime.

[edit] servername and path hidden by < & > !

I'll second that. Just like the desktop version, pocket WMP lacks so much compared to Mortplayer
Especially when you couple it with this skin.

If you want to use your existing playlists from you PC, you can make modified version of them for use over a network.
Say all your music resides in a folder called MP3, and you share that folder on your network.
In your playlists it will say your music path is C:\mp3\album\someartist.mp3
Open your playlist in notepad and use Replace from the edit menu to change the C:\ to \\[your local ip number or computer name]\

Good luck.
