Transferring Word docs from X51 to another PC

Hi,

I need to transfer word documents from my Axim X51 to a communal PC (at an internet cafe) that doesn't have Activ Sync. Is this possible, or must i load Activsync into the PC using the CD Rom, or do something else?

You have two options to transfer stuff without activesync.

1. Get a card reader. Save the word doc to the cf or sd card and then take that card out and put it in the card reader, and plug the card reader into the usb.

2. Install Card Export on the axim. It makes your ppc a mass storage device, but only the sd and cf cards. Save your doc there, and plug into the pc just like as. It will come up as a usb drive.

These are both assuming usb drives will work on these computers, which they should, since people use usb alot nowadays.

If this is a communal PC at an Internet cafe that you will be allowed to transfer files to, then its quite possible that this PC also has a shrared drive and you could transfer files over the wifi to the network share.

IR transfers may also be supported. IR is easy, stand in IR range, point and beam the file.

Bluetooth is slightly faster and a little more work to set up.
