"Outlook E-mail" vs. "Comcast"

Can someone please explain something to me? How come when I add my Comcast (or any other) email account to my X51V, windows mobile 5.0 leaves "Outlook E-mail" as an account?

"Outlook E-mail" has all the folders ("Deleted Items," "Drafts," etc. etc.) You can even compose a new email - but the from line will say "(Outlook E-mail)."

What is the point of this? When I go to "Options" to attempt to chnage my settings, guess what - no "Outlook E-mail account." No surprise, since to me it doesn't really exist anyway.

What is up with this? Can I get rid of "Outlook E-mail?"

(As a side note, on my Motorola Q, a similar thing happens. On my home screen, I have one box that will say "Email (0) Text Messages (whatever number)." And then in the box right below, it will say "Comcast 8.") Is "Email" just some dummy account that I cannot see?

Am I setting up my email accounts incorrectly?

Thanks in advance!!!

I'm somewhat guessing (because I've never used the sync e-mail feature) but I suspect the Outlook e-mail is the one that syncs with the e-mail on your PC. The comcast account sends and receives the mail directly from the ISP while the Outlook account will only send mail through the account on your PC after you've connected via ActiveSync.

I have set up my SBC yahoo email to sync thru Outlook. I also have set it up so that I can download direct to x51v using wifi. I have done the same with my gmail account. When I click on the envelope button and then select menu>go to shows me all three and I can select which account I want to use. The Folder button will show all three accounts with the subfolders. So I am not sure if this is what you want to accomplish.
This is an old posting but still effective--I used it to set up my accounts. Maybe itis what you are looking for.
