Question New x51v... and transferring files from my phone..

Ok, I have googled, searched Dell and Msoft... and can not even find sort of an answer.

I have an x51v and a Motorola v551 from cingular... I would like to be able to do two things...

1) phone has a camera... would like to be able to transfer the pics to my pda...

2) would like to be able to sync up the pda and phones contacts with bluetooth...

all I am able to do so far is use blutooth to make a modem connection...

There is nothing about this in any of the doc's I got with the pda... anyone have any ideas?

Welcome to Aximsite!

1) Have your Axim and phone discover each other via Bluetooth and set up a profile using the OBEX file transfer. You can use this to transfer your photos.
2) Use Motorola Phone Tools
3) Follow the directions for Cingular in the Official GPRS Settings Thread

To send a picture from your phone to your PDA:
0) Turn Bluetooth ON on both devices
1) Go to the options of the picture
2) Choose Move
4) Choose [Look for Devices] unless your device is already listed
5) It should connect and send to the PDA without much ado, the PDA will ask if you want it to accept whatever is being sent. Choose Accept.
6) The picture is saved in My Documents.

I don't know how to sync contacts, but I'm sure you can send a contact to your PDA by using the same procedure above except with a contact instead of a picture.

In Pocket Informant, you can send one contact at a time to the phone, using the Outlook Mobile plugins (tap and hold on a contact, should be an option about half-way down, just above Tools). That allows you to send one phone number at a time, a pain. You can use the Motorola tools like Gigi mentioned, or Data Pilot (www.susteen.com) to send your entire list of contacts from Outlook to your phone.

x51v and voip

Hi all, I am looking to get back into the PDA world, I had a SX56 XDA. I want to know is it possible to use VOIP of some type to make and receive calls from this PDA? Also, is there VPN sfw that will run on this too?

Thanks

Chasman

Welcome to Aximsite!

If you want to use VOIP, try Skype. I'm not sure about VPN software since I don't use it, but if you search, you'll find quite a few threads about it.
