Thanks bro,
I did not see the icon of AS in the menu Program of the device anymore - what should i do with this? Is this the reason why i could not sync the device with the laptop? (it seems i did delete the Activesync in the device undeliberately).
As for the firewalls, i also checked with Norton Anti. and nothing changed!
How can i check the regional settings on both the laptop and device?
I have a Getting started CD DellAxim X51V, do i need to reinstall the Activesync from that CD or just download from internet?
Thank you,

I doubt that you have deleted AS from the Axim and the only way to uninstall AS from the laptop is by way of the Control Panel - that would have to be a deliberate act, so I don't think that AS has gone: it just seems not to start.
I am familiar with a potential problem of insufficient memory on the host pc. If the HDD is full (or quite full), AS may not run: check to make sure that you have sufficient space on the hard drive.
Norton can be a pia! :rolling: Double click the Firewall icon in the System Tray of the laptop. Click the Personal Firewall option and then Configure. Select the Programs tab and (in the programs listed at the bottom) scroll to Microsoft Activesync. Make sure that the permission is set to
Permit All.
You should still be able to load AS on the laptop from the Start Menu. Click Start and then All Programs and look for the AS icon. If it is not there, you may have uninstalled it. You can reload from the companion cd that came with the Axim or you can (if you are brave enough :hide: ) download the latest version from the Microsoft Mobile website.
If you can start AS on the laptop, cradle the device and look for any error messages and let us know.
I am assuming that the laptop is set up for you region: on the Axim, tap the Start menu and then Settings. Select the System tab and you will find the Regional settings on that screen.
