Mad Acrobat Reader 2.0 reading PDFs on SD card woas

I have Acrobat Reader 2.0 (AR2) installed on the main memory of my Axim X51. I have a 1GB SD card that I am using to stored pdfs on. AR2 sees the pdfs on the SD card and opens them. The problem occurs when either I turn off the screen or screen times out, upon turning my Axim back on I get an unable to read file error and I have to soft boot my Axim in order to clear the error.

Any ideals how to fix? If there is a previous thread that discusses please point me to it.

I read PDF's all the time (online college classes) and have not seen this issue. I am interested to see what others have to say (I am also going to try it).

No issues.

How much program memory do you have? Adobe is a takes a lot of memory to run. You may need to install some programs on storage cards (including adobe).

Try PocketXPDF: http://pocketxpdf.sourceforge.net/
100 times better than Acrocrap Reader. You can install it on an SD Card too.

I just wish that there was a very good pdf reader but somehow I always manage to get pdf's that crash them all. Maybe
someone will get it right someday

Try PoxketXPDF
I got a 30mb PDF with lots of pictures on the SD card and no crashes. X51v though.

One thing that I hate about 0.4.0 is that it's STILL slow when moving around on the same page, as it redraws the whole thing instead of just drawing in the segment that's being revealed. It's fast to load PDFs, but it's lacking in that one area. Otherwise, I'd have to say it's a good reader (free, fairly fast to load things), save for that flaw. I've also managed to crash it loading some 24MB PDF files, after zooming in too far using the free area zoom, then zooming out to a more normal proportion.

With the program installed on the SD card the same symptoms appear.
I have 61.2MB of Storage and 30.41MB of Program memory free

I have tried PoxketXpdf. Don't like the fact that it doesn't "reflow" the text. In order to have the text large enough to read I have to move the page side to side. Ugh whats the use of that.
Or am I missing some setting some where?

No reflow option, but use "text only" option in VIEW and change the text size. Reading is a lot better without images. This will solve some "rendering" issues too. I don't have a problem panning or moving around in a page that has text and graphics.

how about Repligo? it does a decent job most of the time converting pdf to it's proprietary format without crashing. And once the file is converted. it is a blast to read it on the Axim.

Problem is it fails to convert some files.

Except if you convert a file to Repligo, you lose the main advantage of PDFs in the first place - they're a "Portable Document Format" (ergo the name PDF), which means that they can be viewed on a PC, a Mac, a PDA, or any other device capable of reading PDF files, and will look almost exactly the same on each one. So if he needs to copy the file to someone, either he carries a PDF and Repligo version of the file... or he's stuck.

I just wish that Westek would put out a better version of the ClearVue suite - I found it as slow as PocketXPDF for viewing PDF files (it redraws the whole page instead of just what's being shown), but even slower to load files than Adobe.

Ok the text only option works, but I don't like having to select tools, next page to advance the page.
I tried assigning the right and left "button" to page controls but that doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions or I am being unreasonable in thinking that this should be easier and more intutive?
