Purchased x50v from 3rd party...

...so I bought an x50v from a friend of mine who is now using a PPC 6700...only paid $150. The Axim is about two months out of warranty. Although the Ax is running 2003, it came with an WM5 upgrade CD that he purchased from Dell a couple of months ago. He tried the upgrade...but rolled back to 2003.

Not that I mind keeping the original OS on the device, but what do you think my chances are of getting Dell to upgrade the x50v to x51v...since I'm not the original buyer.

Read the post about people upgrading, I believe I read where someone was able to do it. You could give it a try, not much to loose. You probably need the service tag # and order # for upgrade CD.
