Broken Axim ?? with a mind of its own.

staring 2 days ago my axim x50 (1 1/2 yrs old) started turning on all by itself. when i would hit the power button to turn it off it didn't turn off. I ended up haveing to leave it on until the timer shut it off. then the power button wouldn't turn it on. i had to wait til it turned on by itself and set it to turn on when any button was hit. the power buttpn works occassionally now, but not normally. I had not installed any new programs or anything for months so i dont think there is a conflict there. i did a coupld soft resets with no luck on fixing it. so today i did a hard reset. still acts up. I could barely get through the setup because it kept turning off and i had to wait for it to turn itself back on. the battery is now out of it because it seems to have a mind of its own. anyone experience anything liek this??

also i am out of warranty, anything i can do? i cant beleive these thing would crap out after only a year and a half.

I don´t know if this´ll work but you could try to de several hard resets on a row!!! Good luck with your problem :approve:

The reason, I suspect, that it turns itself on is you have alarm(s) set to go off. As for the pwoer button not working... set it to wake on any keypress and use a probram like Magic Button to turn it off...

My guess is the wire in the power button broke. it sounds more hardware than software to me.

does anyone know if it would be worth sending it in to get fixed....as for now its sitting at home on my desk unuasble because everytime i try to use it it turns off on me.

You should go to Dell chat and ask them for an estimate to repair it. If all else fails, put it up on eBay for parts, if the screen and digitizer work you can still get atleast $50 for it, possibly more
