Aximsitebluetoothicon Missing Profiles...?

All I have for Bluetooth on my X50v is the "default" profile... How do I get the others, specifically the one for VoIP (skype) service...? I tried to install the widcom stack once and had to hard-reset because it claimed the BT manager was not a valid program! --- even after I uninstalled the widcomm stack!

won't skype work with a standard headset, or bt headset?

No, A2DP is for stereo audio. The headset profile is missing from the Microsoft stack, IIRC, until AKU 2.x.. but I don't know if it's in the Axim x51v version that Dell released in ROM update A12.

You do not need to install the Widcomm BT stack for your x50v. The x50v comes with normal ("uncrippled") profiles. The Widcomm project is for Windows Mobile 5, no wonder your unit got messed up. Next time don't rush into installing things. :)

You do not need any special "profile" for Skype. All you need is an internet connection. When you have internet access from your Axim, simply open Skype, login and connect. That's all you need to do.

Getting internet on your Axim is a different story. You can connect through WiFi (as most people do) or through Bluetooth. There's lots of guides around, search for them.

I see you are having headset problems, that explains your "bluetooth missing profiles"...

Does the microphone on your headset work with other programs? (Voice recording...?)

See if there are any drivers you can download from the manufacturer's web-site (for pocket pc, obviously).

The microphone works fine, it worked with MS Voice Command perfectly (didn't control music, but - program issue, not headset) apparently it was fairly clear. Skype though hears nothing, I acctually took the headset off my ear and spoke LOUDLY into it and still nothing was heard... so I had assumed it needed a special BT profile.

I have not SEEN a website for this headset, it's an odler one "Multitooth" aka "microtooth" originally billed as "the smallest BT headset on the market" and started with a price of $300! but I've seen no manufacturer's website, and I did search for it a while back (though that's not to say I just missed it or it was down or seomthing)
