Watching video clips

I have been trying to watch small (33MB) clips on my x51v, but it struggles: very glitchy, stop/start, for ever re-buffering, then telling me that the system is out of memory. The files are kept on a CF card.

One of the main reasons for ugrading to an X51v is so that I could watch video clips.

I use a free application called TCPMP VERSION 0.71 and I have no issues with playing reduced full DVD movies. You can get this at www.tcpmp.com if you would like to try it.

thanks for that. It worked, but the images were very jumpy, looking like nothng more than a series of still images changing every 3-4 seconds, whilst the soundtrack was happily playing in the background. The file I have tries is a .wmv, 49MB.

Convert it to MP4, MUCH better resolution and quality at a MUCH smaller filesize usually (30 minute show is 50mb, 2 hour is 150-175mb)

I have this problem when playing videos that are just too high a bitrate. Lost episodes, which are 320MB for 40 minutes, are a tiny bit above TCPMP's tolerance, so there is the occassional obvious skipped frame. The best seems to be 150-200MB a 40 minute episode... up to 250MB is alright.

??? How do you do that, gadget? I cant even play an MP4 that's 200mb, much less 250! IS there some secret setting that I have to use? I'm getting the old 'slideshow' for video and some often-rebuffering audio... (and even Quicktime on my PC wont view the file!!!)
