giving up on WM5

my Axim 50 locks up constantly, I need to hard reset it at least 1 / month
soft reset at least every other week

it will get slow often and a soft reset will bring it back up to speed.

the comparison that I am making is with my

axim x3i which runs 2003 PPC and has never had a single problem
never locks up, never needs a hard reset and it does MORE work then the 50

I wanted to find out the best place to buy the media for ppc2003 to load it on my axim 50, what the going price is, and then I will do a search on how to downgrade the ROM

any help would be appreciated

I think there's a ROM on dell's website to revert to 2003SE

It's ok. You're not the first to give it a try. I know how frustrating it is. Just roll on back to stable WM 2003se and leave it be.

Check out the replacement with a X51v discussion. My x50v is almost 2 years old and they are sending me a new x51v due to WM5 issues. Dell was very easy to work work with. At one point I simply copied and pasted the italic verbiage right from page 1 of the thread.
