I recently "took over" my wife's laptop because it is newer and faster than the one I usually use, and seeing that the programs I run are usually a little more CPU hungry than hers, she decided to give me this one and she would use the old one. Now, since all of the programs installed to my PDA were installed via my old laptop, how will this affect my activsyncing. There are a lot of programs (especially my medically related ones) that are set to update every time I sync the device. Since this laptop does not have the programs installed on it, what do I have to do to make everything "match up?" If I install them on this laptop, won't it try to install it on my PDA again?
If the program needs to update itself, then I think you will need to reinstall it on your laptop. During the process, it will also proceed to install itself on your Axim (as kpc1 also noted), at which point, you can cancel since it is already installed there. Before you doing anything, however, backup your device in case something goes awry.
