Syncronization not working

Hi, I recently purchased a Dell axim X51, and when I try to syncronize my contacts, outlook, calender, ect, it says :

"Synchronization canno be started because you are not able to log on to the network and access information. Restart your desktop computer and synchronize again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator."

After I press okay, I can click "Sync", and it will appear to be working, however, nothing is synchronized on my x51. No contacts, calender info, ect. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Did you install ActiveSync V4.x (where x is 1, 2 or 5 but NOT 0)?
Did you install AS BEFORE linking the device to the PC?
Have you turned off your firewall?
Have you followed the trouble shooting guides at Microsoft.com/mobile?
