Question CF to PCMCIA Converter

I found this CF to PCMCIA Converter at the site below.

http://www.notestation.com/cfpccard.htm

I have a pcmcia USB/Firewire card for my laptop.

If I bought this do you think I could give my x50v a USB port.

Would it work.

Regards

What are you going to do for drivers?

it says no drivers are needed so it must just look like a cf card to the pda no matter what you hook up to it but it seems logical that without other drivers you could only hook memory up to it

1) Be aware that PCMCIA is a power hungrier format and as such most things will not work simply from lack of power.
2) when it says no driver needed it means only for the adapter itself. You would need a driver for the USB/PCMCIA card. You might be able to use the ones for the CF/USB cards but that is a remote possibility.

Your correct in your warnings, as noted on semsons website:

PCMCIA Power Warnings

Personally, this setup is just too cumbersome to be useful. This is probably a more reasonable solution:

USB

Yes but certainly more pricier....
Iy you already have a PCMCIA USB card then a $14.00 investment to play around is a small W?BIC investment.
