MPEG video won't play.

Simple problem.

I have an MPEG music video.

The Axim won't play it. It says it doesn't recognize a program to play it in. It says to open the program, THEN open the file THROUGH the program. But I'm unable to find out where in Media Player Mobile I can search the SD card for this file.

WMP only plays Windows video formats. A better player would be TCPMP, which is free for now.

:approve: When you download the TCMP player, make sure you download all the codecs that go with it. Then after the player is open on the Axim, pick options tab, settings tab, select page tab, then file associations and check all. This is easiest and will play any kind of file available.

How do I install it? I downloaded it and zipped it, but I've never used a PDA before so this transferring thing is confusing me. How do I get TCPMP onto the device?

And just for the record - isn't it possible to download codecs for Mobile Media Player 10?

If you downloaded the .exe, just connect your device to your PC via ActiveSync, click on the .exe on the PC side and it will install. Just follow the prompts. If you downloaded the CAB file, just copy it over to your device, locate it using File Explorer, then tap on it to install it.

No it's not possible to install codecs for WMP.

I can't find the EXE. It's a zip file, I unzip it, and I get like 4 or 5 more zip files, and you make your selection based on what kind of processor you have. I did, another zip file. Then I unzip it and it's a bunch of crazy files I can't do anything with. Now what?

Sounds like you downloaded a bunch of CAB files. To make things easier for yourself, download the .exe instead. Look for "tcpmp.setup.0.7.1.exe" on this page:

http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=5...se_id=224#r224

It should be the third one in the pink section (0.71). Once downloaded, connect your device to your PC via ActiveSync, then click on the .exe to install.
