Update: My PDA synchronized in the cradle today! I have successfully booted the X51, but of course cannot see anything on the screen since it's cracked. Dell really made these things durable it seems.

So I guess it is off to Pocket pc techs for you. WOW, that is quite a story.
I'm glad that it still works. Now lets get a new screen in it so life can go back to normal.

What I would do is cancel your order and add Complete Care to your damaged Axim.
Wait a month and call it in. You'll be out a Axim for a month, but save you $400 bucks.
OR
Just buy the new one and have Complete care added on right away. Then send your old one back and have it replaced. Box it up in the new packaging and sell it on ebay to recover some money. Just use your old cradle and stuff, keeping the new cradle packaged new. Just swap out the Axim.
Just sell the Replacement as New and just say that you opened to box to check the contents.
Viewer discretion, indeed. That is truly hard to look. I can't imagine seeing it for real.
I've got 404 days left -- maybe I should consider complete care.
OUCH! That made me shiver!
DeeCee? Can you add complete care after purchase? I was thinking I read somewhere that it had to be made at the original purchase. Just curious!

I know you can add warranty time, not sure about complete care. all you can do is ask.
You can NOT add complete care after the fact. You can only do it at the time of purchase...believe me I tried...
I've been thru several PDAs due to cracked screens and didn't realize (Stupid me) what complete care was until I was checking my order status and somehow ended up there. I hadn't even received my PDA yet and tried to add it and they wouldn't let me.
You could try to blame the cracked screen on WM5....see if they'll replace it.
"I clicked the start button like u said but nothing happened. It seems to be running extremely slowly. Hard reset and soft reset doesn't change anything."
I busted my axim screen and called Dell. They said I didn't have complete care so its not covered and to call the "out of warranty dept.". I ordered complete care later that day and waited 2 days. I called the out of warranty dept to see about getting my screen replaced. They said no problem I see you have complete care we'll send you out a replacement. 2 days later one showed up on my door step via DHL. The only thing dell wanted to know was how I broke the screen. You only have 48 hrs to send back the broken one or you'll get charged for it. 2 days later I recieved an e-mail asking where the old axim was and that if it wasn't recieved soon I would be charged. They are all about being prompt. Anyways nothing was said about me buying complete care after the fact, who knows maybe I was just lucky.
