go into wlan utility by clicking the wifi logo at the bottom-right of the screen, hit the top button labeled 'turn on', then hit the settings button, there will be a list of network names, hit and hold onto the one you want to connect to until a small menu apears tha says "connect" and 'remove settings', hit connect, it might then go to a screen that says "configure wireless network" with the network name and then "connects to:", make sure "connects to" say internet not the one that say work, then hit "ok"

Actually, 'work' is probably the better choice but, whichever you choose, make sure both dropdown lists in the connection settings page are the same.

Did you have a valid IP? You may want to check that.

I need step by step too because suddenly mine won't connect anymore and I have no idea what setting has changed. PLEASE HELP (I'm not trying to get free internet I'm trying to connect on my OWN home wireless network) I get the network name but it won't give me the options mentioned earlier about connecting or configuring. It shows a locked padlock then the network name. I can't FIND the connection setup page.

You will only see the connections setup page when the wifi is turned on. The main page of the WLAN utility has a link to it.

In any case, in my experience, the sudden loss of connection to a home network is due to interference from another network on the same channel.

Try going into your router's settings and changing to a different channel - keep it on 1, 6, or 11, however.

While you are in the router settings, you might try disabling the security to see if you can connect with it 'open.' If that works, go back in and reenable the security then add the key to the Axim.
