why does the x51v turn on randomly?

usually when i have my axim docked and off it turns on at random times. why is that? one time i had it in its case sitting on my bookself then all of a sudden i hear music from it b/c i left the win media player open right before i turned it on. i remember reading some people having that same problem but i can't find the link.

Do you have A12 installed. A lot of people have problems with the Axim turning on after upgrading.

The fix is a final Hard reset.

I dont think it's X51 specific.

I dont usually leave my X50v in it's cradle, prefering to keep it in it's nice aluminum Rhinoskin case, but I have it there right now BC I'm installing several pieces of software, and I install one, and then when I finished I turned it off so it would charge (AC adapter's not plugged into the cradle) and a moment ago, it was sitting there, amber light on, then i powered up for no reason!

My guess is an error in AS is waking it up...

You need to try the "Fake Server Trick." I had that problem back with A06. That seemed to fix the problem for me. You can get the Link in MyPDA.

As in, the one that uses a hammer or similar object?

I can't believe they didn't fix the activesync problem and the fake server trick is still necessary with the new ROM. Also, I've found that when my battery is low, every couple of minutes my x51v will power up to remind me. There is no way to stop it so it quickly whittles away what little battery life it has left.
I'm starting to feel like I'm using a Palm again...

...no wait. Nothing is that bad. (But this still ain't good

)
