Leaving my X51V on the cradle...adverse effects?

This has been bugging me for a while. Basically, will leaving my Axim on its cradle its cradle, for extended periods of time when it's fully charged, have adverse affects on my Axims battery?

Thanks, Ashley.

ihateacid is correct. It's no biggie to leave it plugged in.

No problem. I always leave my 51v in the cradle when its not in use. I also keep a spare battery changing in the cradle and there have been no issues.

what about the green light? If it is on all the time, would it get burned somehow sometime?(I think I worry too much)...

I'd probably wager that the little green LED light will last longer than the Axim itself. Just a guess, but I'd bet a shiny nickel on it. :)

Thanks, Ashley.
Nope. There was some chatter about some bad cradles for awhile, but I leave my X50V plugged into the travel charger all the time it is not in use. No worries.

Although, keeping in the cradle all the time will tend to cut into the portability of the PDA ...

If you keep the axim on the cradle for a long time, it tends to get a lil' dusty just sitting there.

AKAJohnDoe is right. keeping it in the cradle for a long time will defy its portability.

Only adverse effect I can think of is withdrawal symptoms.

Aximjosh,
Shame on you for trying to hustle people's shiny nickle for that bet... without letting me in for a sidebet, lol.

I agree, gets dusty, little green light on alot (won't burn out easily, thats the beauty of leds).

portabilty, get that thing out and use it, that is why you bought it right? portability? more portable than a laptop.

I always wondered about the battery memory effects.

The modern batteries do not have a memory effect per se, but they do have a limited number of charges and fully flattening it can hurt them. If you take the battery down to 80% and then fully charge it you have used 20% of one of those charges. Do this 5 times and you have used one of it's lives. There are probably statistics on how many lives each battery type can be expected to have, but you will know when they are used up, so until then, charge away!

I keep my Axim in the cradle frequently. Over a year now, and no problems.
