Do you guys set the power button to completely turn off the device? If so, does that count as a soft reset? Another thing about my x51v is that its msn messenger doesn't work very well. I often have trouble signing in even though the wireless signal is strong (I am able to surf the internet while it's trying to sign in). Sometimes even if it is signed in, it doesn't load the people who are online at the moment properly. I often resolve this by restarting the axim.

btw, is your reset button fragile? I don't use mine a lot but it's already deformed and you can see a little depression on the button. :\ This is bugging me because I always want my gadgets as mint as possible.

It might be due to installed software or combination of software. Or maybe some people don't use any utilities to fully close applications which causes problems.

Yes, most problems come from the software installed. If you choose your software VERY carefully, your Axim should run fine. I'm sure that 99% of Axims work well right out of the box. My Axim, even with lots of apps, performs very nicely. Though, I made lots of sacrifices installing and uninstalling applications.

I reset every week or so. The frustrating thing is how it often locks up for a minute or so, then continues. If I add a new calendar or task it works fine, then goes into its memory management and freezes for a while as does its thing...

Just a thought, are you overclocking your CPU? Also, you can use programs like Vidya Task manager to monitor your background processes. I'm sure it's some program that you installed that's causing problem.

Mine is stable, I reset maybe 1 or 2 times a month. I have never had to Hard-reset since I got mine last spring.

For those who reset once or twice a month, are you talking about soft reset?? Do you guys never completely turn off your axims at all?

I agree with what many others have said, the axim works very well as long as you don't load it up with a lot of problematic programs.

Mine was stable til I installed skype, then it got all crazy on me. Not recognising changes when card is put in, mortplayer only playing 10sec of each song before changing track, random screen freeze, notification problems, password screen take ages to show **** after input... the list goes on.
Uninstalling skype doesn't fix it. Thank God I've got a new unit since then.

It really does depend on the ROM that you have. AO1, AO4, and AO5 were fairly unstable, AO6 fixed some of the bugs, and A12 fixed a few more.
