Icon13 x50v standby battery drain...excessive?

I have an x50v with wm2003se. Lately, I have been getting what I would classify as excesive battery drain. For example, today I had the Axim fully charged (100%) and it remained off from ~530am to 630pm (13 hours). When I turned it on, the battery had drained 35%! Activesync was manually closed when I pulled it off the charger this morning, so the only running apps were my today plugins and Wifi and BT were disabled. I have shown the connection options I have for each individual program that may update over wifi/AS connect. Activesync mobile schedule is set to update manually only.

The today plugins I have installed are:

SBSH Clock and SBSH PocketBreeze with the following PB Tabs:

SBSH iLauncher
SBSH PocketWeather (update on internet connection and auto update on AS connect option both checked)
SBSH ContactBeeze
Special Events
Notes
Tasks

The software I have installed includes:

Dogfood registry tweak
Novii Remote Deluxe
SOTI Pocket Controller
ISS Invaders
SPB Insight - only to connect on free connections
Resco Explorer
SPB Time - until SBSH Clock is further advanced
PI 2007
Skype
Get a Grip Golf
SPB PocketPlus - for PIE Plugin only
SBSH PB
Resco FTP
Resco Registry
iLauncher
PocketWeather - update on internet connection and auto update on AS connect option both checked
ContactBreeze
psShutXP
Handylist
Magic Button - not used currently
Mortplayer
Ultimate Bowling Fighter
Bejeweled 2
Calc98
FlexWallet
MemMaid
ListPro
PTVL & Listingsync
Free pong
Newsbreak - no auto update
Pocket Streets
Agile Messenger
Resco Keyboard
SPB Airislands
Tweaks2k2
Resco Picture Viewer
TCPMP
SPB Backup

Can someone please review this info and advise some things to check to reduce my standby battery drain?

I hope this is enough info for some thorough analysis by you pros! :D

Is your email set to automatically check for new mail? Similarly, are any of your apps set to update itself automatically? These features will turn on the device on its own.

If your answer is no to the above questions, try doing a soft reset before turning your device off and see if you get the same battery drain.

I don't use my axim for email...there are no accounts setup and Inbox sync is disabled....

All the apps I can think of that would update automatically I have provided my connection settings above since that was my first thouht, so I think I have disabled anything that will try to auto update without having an active conection...like I said. This is with wifi and BT OFF.

If you see an app that I didn't provided connection settings for above, please let me know which settings I should change.

So it seems that the soft reset is the trick...any idea on what is causing the battery drain?

I have a lot of apps running also. Because I run spb backup nightly, my x50v does a soft reset nightly. That seems to make a big difference.

mine resets nightly via SPB Backup as well, but that doesn't seem to matter. Even if AS is the only app running in the morning and I manually close it via iLauncher task manager, I get standby battery drain...

Actually, the jury is still out on whether the soft reset is helping my battery drain...

well, soft resetting is not resolving my battery drain issue. i'm going to start disabling today plugins to help isolate the issue.

I suggest that you use the acbPowermeter to get an idea of the powerconsumption.

It's only 10kB in size.

I have had my Axim for just about a year now. I have never gotten decent battery life with it, but this jsut seems software related....with my Axim in standbay, I have about 65-80 ma battery current according to abcpowermeter. At that rate, my 100 ma battery wil only last ~17 hours. That seems pretty quick though. I am still losing a percent or 2 an hour with my axim off, even with no programs running and all today plugins disabled...
