Aximsitemobileicon Does the X51v come with a12 preinstalled??

My x51v just got here and the revision code in the battery compartment says 12, and when I checked the ROM verson, it said a12. I know this is a pretty obvious "yes, it's the latest ROM" but I wanted to make doubly sure, since everyone on here said theirs shipped with a06.

Mine came shipped (last month) with A12 but I was wondering about the update on the Dell support site, is it only to upgrade to A12 or does it provide anything further to A12?

I received my 51V in July and A12 was already preinstalled.

Thanks, I figured as much since the device was so fast (seems just as fast as PPC2003 X50v to me, a WELCOME change from WM05/X50v)

I am a little concerned, I just got home and my new Axim was here. I put the battery in and the only number I can find is A03. Whats with that? However unnder the system it says A12. Did I get an old one?

A03 is the hardware upgrade level. A12 is the ROM update level for the OS. You are good to go.

stump_1100, think there's no need to do anything with A12 upgrade if your machine has it installed.

I've the same new A12 ROM and A03 hardware.

Just curious, what are the improvement on the A03 hardware over the previous versions? What is the latest hardware version anyone has received?

If I got a new X51V today and it was not ROM A12 I would complain and return it until I got a new unit that was A12. Why go through a ROM update to A12 when Dell will have done it for you.
