wise to buy used / w/o warranty?

Hello,

im wondering if it is wise to buy a used product or one without warranty?

i used the warranty on my laptop enough to make it worth it...

also as im not sure exactly what im getting, is it worth it to buy a laptop used?

oh and is it wise to buy and older one? because of differences between WM5 and others? and the new "office" programs that come with the new ones?

I bought a used iPaq 2215 after I broke screen on my old one. Never had a problem in 2+ years. But then this particular model is well known for its reliability.

I've only had Axim for about a week. It seems to be much more finicky. I'd get a new one from Dell - then you can return it if things don't work out.

As for WM5 vs 2003 - I wouldn't necessarily call it an "upgrade". It's much slower and the added features are minimal.

The warranty is pretty important to me. Especially since the ax is not particularly stable.
