I am new here, but having completed the A02 upgrade my x50v appears to be working okay with one exception, it keeps wanting to sync with my PC about every 5 to10 minutes. I did apply the "fake" server fix, but not sure if it saves that way "manually" or reverts back to "as it arrives".

Just out of curiousity, should we start a poll on how many people are still happy and running the new ROM and how many people tried and still had issuses and rolled back to 2003SE?

After about two weeks of using the new ROM I am still pretty happy with it and it is still stable and fast for me. If I recall, I had to roll-back the previous A01 ROM after about 3 days or so. I suspect that maybe few problems that some people are reporting with this ROM could be due to some programs that don't have good WM05 support but work fine under 03SE.

So far, for me it is still a keeper... thanks Dell :approve:

yea some of these ppl recklessly install all their programs they had on wm2003se thinking they will work fine on wm5 which is not the case for many made for 2003se programs,thats y i think alot of ppl are having problems still .lighten up ppl u should be glad that dell released an x50 update.

How do you roll back to 2003 from WM 5.0? I cannot get my Dell GPS unit to work. I have seen this issue posted in the forum from Nov 05 when the upgrade was first available. I couldn't find a answer to the problem and there doesn't seem to be any way of resolving the issue. Thanks

Well, so far I've been working just fine with WM5. It's been a week since I upgraded and I'm happy with my device. Just as Eric said before, everybody should make sure that all Apps you're going to install in your device are WM5 compatible. I did the upgrade because all the apps that I considered a "must have" are working fine for me.

On my Persisten memory I have:
-SPB Backup
-SPB Finance
-Opera
-MS Office OneNote
-MemMaid

On My SD:
-Resco File Explorer
-Resco Audio Recorder

And everything is just working fine.

How do you roll back to 2003 from WM 5.0? I cannot get my Dell GPS unit to work. I have seen this issue posted in the forum from Nov 05 when the upgrade was first available. I couldn't find a answer to the problem and there doesn't seem to be any way of resolving the issue. Thanks

Seems to me WM5 has a version of GPS gate in it. You probably need to turn this feature off and then access the GPS normally. In my x51v it's under System and GPS.

What to do??? It again stuks at 624 MHz!
After Sofr rezet sevetal minuts it ok-about 104 or 208, but then 624!

After 2nd Soft Reset it ok! Wonderful!
But why?

Mobipocket crashes now
Wi Fi connection keeps getting dropped, which didn't happen with 2003se or WM5A01
Device sometimes doesn't turn on and has to be reset while off just to power up, (my major) problem left over from A01

How annoying, I still don't feel it is usable.

I use my PDA for quick and reliable reference source in bedside
the buggy wm5 even after tons of tweaking, is still to slow for me

ROLLED back to 2003 and the PDA went back to duty
