What CDs are included with a new x51v?

I just bought a used x51v on eBay that had been bought new in August '06. It came with the new A12 ROM but no Dell provided CDs. The only CD was a copy of ActiveSync 4.5 Beta. The seller says that the original Dell provided CD only contained ActiveSync 4.0. Doesn't Dell still provide a CD with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0/Outlook 200x and a companion CD with free and trial applications?

The CD that Dell supplies does indeed contain AS4, Outlook and a host of trial software. For a while they also bundled another CD that had 2 3D games for the X51v, but they seem to be charging extra for that now.

The CD doesn't have WM5 on it, but it does have a WM5 licence key sticker on it, not that the WM5 licence is transferable to another device....

It also contains a copy of Microsoft Office Outlook. Its the only real value on the CD as AS is downloadable from the Microsoft web site.

So, if they sent me a replacement X51V for my X50 and they didn't send me a license key for WM5, aren't they in violation?

Not really, as Dell would have a bulk licence key allowing them to install WM5 on any device they make, and manufacturing quotas are easy to show. Every device would be accounted for so they could show how large a licence they are paying for, the sticker is just there so you can say "Hot damn, I've got an official microsoft product" or, in simple terms, :approve:

You'll still technically have a licence, through Dell, you just don't have the paper.
