backing up SD card entirely problem

I tried to back up my 4GB SD card using a reader, basically select, drag & drop into my HD and it said "Read Error...." or something to that nature.
However, the SD card works fine on my PDA...I can backup using Sprite/SPB back up etc..no problem...all programs run fine. What's going on? anyone knows?

Are you sure it's genuine, and not one of the fake ones floating around on ebay?
