Well, after some frustration, I lost my wireless completely and had to get online with Dell. They directed me to remove the wireless profile and start a fresh one which now works on my network and the Axim. The only thing I can see that changed was the channel number from 11 (old wireless) to 6 (new wireless). I'm not sure how that affects the Axims ability to link into our home wireless but I guess it did.
Just an FYI, the Axim correctly had the channel 11 in the profile before and now it has 6.
