Aximsiteactivesyncicon Outlook Rules Set Up and Sync Problem

I have set up a "Rule" in Outlook on my PC that takes any email sent to my personal email address and moves it to a sub folder under the Inbox called Personal. In Active Sync, I checked the box for it to sync this folder in addition to the Inbox.

When I receive email from my accounts, I get email from my company address and my personal address. The personal email gets routed to my personal folder on the PC just fine. Then when it syncs to the Axim, The company email goes to the "Outlook E-mail" accounts and the personal email goes to the "POP3" accounts (I'm not sure how that happens or works). The odd thing that is happening is the "Outlook Email" account syncs perfectly--email comes in, is read and goes away in sync with the PC. However, the "POP3" account just gets filled up with unread email and never shows as read or goes away when the PC deletes the email from the personal folder.

1. How is it that the POP3 account is catching all of the personal email in the personal folder?
2. Why isn't it sync'ing with the PC?
3. Should I be using a different Sync tool (software) or is there a way to configure Active Sync to work better?

I am using:
Axim x50v
PPC2003
Active Sync 4.x

Thanks.

What is the POP3 e-mail account that your Axim sending and receiving from?. It sounds like you set up a pop3 e-mail account as well as the default Outlook e-mail on your Axim.

I've always had trouble with this on the Pocket PC. First, Outlook-Email seems to only be the synchronized email that is coming into my Outlook on PC. I set up a POP3 account using the same email account information so I could send and receive email from the Axim when traveling. I was hoping to leave the laptop behind on short business trips. However, I have not been able to get my email to send and receive this way. I've never been able to get my email to come and go from the Outlook-Email account which is why I tried setting up a POP3 account.

I have followed every thread on this board regarding sending and receiving email and setting it up. I have contacted my local ISP to ensure that everything is set up correctly (I am using a local ISP not a national brand). I cannot get the email to come and go....although I would sure like to get this feature to work.

All that said, I don't mind the personal email filtering into the POP3 account on the Axim when I sync. What I need though is to have it truly sync and match my Outlook on the PC.

I think that the reason why your pop3 account keeps getting filled up is because when you set up the pop3 using the same e-mail account information as your business account, you're synchronzing all exact same e-mail to the pop3 account. Are you deleting the e-mail off of your business account or do you let it stay in your inbox?

You can also set up a rule on your axim to only synchronize the last 2 week of e-mail.

The business account email is landing in the Outlook-Email account on the Axim and gets deleted in sync with Outlook on the PC. That account has a different email address.

The POP3 email (personal email) lands in the POP3 account on the Axim but for some reason is not getting deleted nor is it in sync with the personal folder on the PC. Remember from above that I set up a rule in Outlook to send all personal email (with a personal email address) to a subfolder under Inbox called "Personal". For some reason, that email is getting dumped into the POP3 account but doesn't get synced. It just keeps adding new email as it comes in to the Axim POP3 account.

Also for some reason, I cannot send or receive from the Outlook-Email account on the Axim. Those features are grayed out. I have never been able to send and receive from the POP3 account even though those features are active. I see the Axim attempt to log in then it asks me for my username and password (even though they are in the set up) but never can connect. As I said above, I've contacted my ISP, Dell, and read this forum extensively to find a solution to that problem but can't.

As for setting up a rule on the Axim, there are emails that are older than 2 weeks that I need to keep. I just want it to sync with my Outlook where I do the majority of my email management.
