dialing via bluetooth

Hi I'm very new to pda's

I have an AximX51 now and I would like it to dial my contacts via my nokia 6230i
mobile phone. Used to work ok when I had an acer?

I have now idea how to set this up, so could someone with lots of patience talk a novice through the process.

please use everyday language as I do not understand some of the technical terms.

Quick tip from someone who had some problem with getting the pda to dial numbers on phone.

You need a phone that actually allows outgoing and incoming connection.

I used to have the Razar V3, and it was such a pain, was not able to connect. So i got Sony Ericsson 600w. But you can have any Sony Ericsson with BT ofcourse.

you will need to download the VBDialer : http://www.vmobilesoftware.com/bluetooth_dialer.htm

This will help in getting the pda to connect to the phone.

You have to run this program and test the port that you've configured the phone with.

Once you've done that you save the settings.

And then when you open up contact it'll give you option in menus to dial via VBDialer etc.

Good luck with this. It's really easy, so if you are having a hard time you are doing something wrong. Write back with updates.

I would like to know if this works because I tried it with a nokia 6102i and it would not work. I even tried the winccom bluetooth stack and I couldn't get that to work either.

I followed all of your instructions. downloaded and installed the dialer.
When I go to contacts and tap the screen, dial number is there, but when I tap to dial , I get send fail and no response from modem?

The Axim and phone are definately paired, but it will not dial the number. Any other advice please?

Do I need some other software to make this work or is the Axim/phone at fault?

Check the axim, Start/settings/connections/BT then devices, tap the device name and see what settings are selected, Dial up networking, Data transfer etc. select them all and see if the dialer will work.

I would think that when using a dialer app that you would get an option to use the dialer in BT options, it is not neccessarily a modem function. ?????

Phone will not ring out the number. Is this a problem with the Nokia phone?

Doe anyone out there have a nokia 6230i and manged to gett it to dial with an Axim X51?
