Okay......excuse my EXTREME ignorance, but I am VERY new to having a PDA. I just got my Dell Axim x51v not even a month ago.

I'm also having problems with daylight savings time. So, if I download this file, I'll have a cab file on my computer. You say to put it in my "temp directory". What's that? There's a "template" directory on my Axim. Is that it? I'm really confused as to where this file is supposed to go. Also, when I click on "Extract," I try to extract files to the Dell, but the computer doesn't give me that option.

Thanks!

Aximsitex5icon Microsoft Mobile DST patch

Microsoft did finally come through 2 days before DST started with a patch for mobile devices. If anyone here still wants to patch their Axim, you can download the patch at www.microsoft.com. They even have a fix for the Outlook error created by this change.

cab files can be placed anywhere on the Ax. Put is somewhere that you can find it and then tap on it to make it run.

Anyone know if you can uninstall the MS patch from the x51v (via Remove Programs) after the patch has been successfully applied?

I think you can. But then it won't change back from DST on the correct date in November and it won't change correctly in the following years.

mine didnt' work straight up either.. x50v on WM5

i unzipped the cab from akheron and put it on the pda, installed and nothing happened... to fix, i moved the time zone settings to east coast, saved that setting, then it jumped 4 hrs, not 3

figuring that did the trick, i set it back to west coast and all was well.. so not sure why mine didn't fix immediately, but i was able to kickstart it like that so if anyone else is having issues with the cab files, perhaps you just need to slap the pda around a bit to make it love you
